It’s happening people. This is not a drill. Christmas is here. And with the festive season, come the social events. As a parent, you may be required to dress the kids too. Of course, you could let them pick out whatever they want…but if you’re not feeling ready to hand over creative control just yet (we don’t blame you), here are some of our suggestions. Prepare to flex those fashion muscles: the season of style is upon us.
If you choose to go down the party dress route, Dunnes Stores have launched their Christmas collection, which features some elegant dresses by Leigh Tucker. Simple, with just the right amount of sparkle. Also, the added bonus: they’re not overly festive, so could easily be worn again throughout the following year.
Convincing your kids that shirts aren’t just part of the school wardrobe can be a bit of a challenge. Luckily H&M have applied their usual dose of cool, to create a range of cotton shirts that are far from uniform. Pair with a chunky knit for an easy event outfit.
So most, if not every shop, will have a stock of Christmas inspired dresses in their windows at the moment. Looking for something different? Try an alternative, like a jumpsuit or embellished shirt. Kind of removes that icky feeling of seeing your frock on someone else as you arrive, doesn’t it?
Let’s be honest, it’s usually a shirt-jacket-jumper combination of some sort for the men’s fashion choices over the holidays. Without straying too far from the easy options, why not try a design or cut a little more unusual? Prints and textures in a garment of a familiar shape is the perfect, stylish stepping-stone.
And of course, it wouldn’t be party season without a few accessories to add a dash of glamour to proceedings.
