It’s here – the sunshine! And yes, we are willing to jinx it by celebrating with a change of clothes, shoes and accessories. Which got us thinking: how about a new scent, to match the fresher weather? Something a little lighter that can reminds us it’s spring, even when those pesky showers strike. We’ve sniffed out some of our favourite new release of 2016 – perfect for a spritz of spring.
Aerin – Mediterranean Honeysuckle
This scent is as luscious as its name. Can’t get to the Cote d’Azur just yet? No worries, the granddaughter of Estee Lauder has created a holiday in a bottle with the latest release from her beauty line. It describes itself as ‘sweet and sparkling’, with a blend of Italian bergamot, Mandarin oil and jasmine.
Jo Malone – Wild Strawberry & Parsley
The queen of unusual perfume pairings, Jo Malone has long been known as the brand with something a little more unique to offer. We’re intrigued to see how Wild Strawberry & Parsley will go down with shoppers this season. It’s peppery and definitely leans more towards the herby side of things, but the notes of wild strawberry and violet keep it sweet.
Dolce & Gabbana – Rosa Excelsa
If you’re a floral fan to the core, Dolce and Gabanna’s newest addition to their Dolce Garden range will most certainly please. Floral notes a plenty, thanks to the mix of Papaya Flower and White Amarylis, leave a rosy, but deep scent. We could see this becoming a great fragrance for summer evenings.
Marc Jacobs – Daisy Dream Blush
Who knew that Marc Jacobs would create a cult following around the daisy? The blush toned bottle of the new release hints at the central scent (the heart) of rose, which is lifted by violet and waterlily to create a light, summery scent.
& Other Stories – Fig Fiction Body Mist
The Swedish brand will be joining their big sister H&M in Dublin, when they open their new store on Grafton Street later this year. But if you can’t wait until then, make do with a bottle of their Fig Fiction fragrance. It claims to leave both body and mind revitalised, thanks to the freshness of bamboo and wild fig, combined with Brazilian rosewood and dark plum.
